» Recording Studios (71)- Why a One Room Studio?
A One Room Studio breaks down the walls between the musicans and the engineer so that the performers get a taste of the technical aspect and the engineer is able to almost perform with the band. No more distracting laughter while the singer is cutting vocals, no awkward separation between the artist and "that guy in the control room". This allows the entire experience to be more personal and intimate.
- What about bleed?
Bleed is when the microphones pick up instruments they are not intended to pick up, like when you hear guitars in the drum track. With proper microphone placement technique this can be minimized. Not all bleeding or spillage is bad and can sometimes be used to create a more accurate soundstage.
